I snuck out today,

Longer than I should.

Catch me if you can,

Give me a fine if you must.

I don’t care,

I snuck out today.

My eyes were closed,

Breath filled my lungs.

The sun warmed my face,

Fresh air brushed my hair.

I don’t care,

I snuck out today.

Not a single person,

Not a single car.

Did I pass by,

On the desert road.

I don’t care,

I snuck out today.

Just my dog and I,

The only ones.

Hush filled the air,

Quiet everywhere.

I don’t care,

I snuck out today.

A smile crossed my face,

My soul felt free.

For just a moment,

I forgot where I was.

I don’t care,

I snuck out today.

A silent cat passed by,

A child stood at his window.

I greeted the cat,

I waved at the child.

I don’t care,

I snuck out today.

I gazed on the mountains,

I listened to the fountains.

I picked a purple flower,

I smelled its perfume.

I don’t care,

I snuck out today.

I snuck out today,

Longer than I should.

Catch me if you can,

Give me a fine if you must.

I don’t care,

I snuck out today.
