Happy Birthday to “The Cultural Story-Weaver”!

“Do you write articles?” Pierre’s 1st grade teacher asked me after school on day..

“Yes, I do. Why?” I asked her.

“That’s all Pierre talks about,” she said. “He always talks about you writing stories about your dog.”

I smiled. Hearing that made me happy.

My Child is a Storyteller!

That evening, I pulled out Pierre’s school work from his “Mailbox” folder.

This is what I found.

I smiled. Seeing this made me happy.

storyteller my mom's blog

“My mom has a Blog. She rists stury a Bawt. My famley and my dog it is fon to wach my mom!”

For those of you who may have trouble deciphering the writing and spelling of a six-year-old boy . . .

“My mom has a blog. She writes stories about my family and my dog. It is fun to watch my mom!”

I asked Pierre to tell me about the picture.

“It’s you writing your blog on your computer at the table. I’m sitting next to you petting Bernie,” he explained to me.

I asked him what was on the table next to my computer—all those little balls.

“That’s a fruit bowl,” he said.

“Oh, yes, of course, it’s a fruit bowl,” I responded, with a smile.

“The Little Cultural Story-Weaver”

Pierre is a six-year-old storyteller. He loves to write and tell stories.
