Welcome to the Czech Republic—the 8th “Country of Christmas”!
If you are single and curious if you might get married soon, perhaps you want to journey to the Czech Republic for Christmas this year.
There is a special cultural tradition that takes place on Christmas Eve—only for the single ladies.
“With their backs to the house door, they throw one of their shoes over their shoulder. If the front of the shoe points toward the door, it means she will move out of her parents’ house. She should start making wedding preparations.”
Marie Leslie
Those are the happy ladies, screaming with joy throughout the land of the Czech Republic.
However, not all of the single women will be rejoicing. Others will not be celebrating on Christmas Eve.
“If the shoe is facing any other direction, they’ll have to endure another holiday of relatives asking when they’re finally going to settle down.”
Mashable
I wonder what the chances are that the shoe lands pointing to the door?
MERRY CHRISTMAS, Czech Republic!
